  What is the WT's position on important topics like GOLF?

  just wondering if there is anything the wbts could possibly say against this wonderful game.

  probably the only knock would be that it's so addictive and it would take up all of your time.

  gumby is so right about about DOs and COs playing golf, especially on Monday when the rest of us have to work. I've heard a couple of them snickering about the fact that "their" boss gives them Monday off for golf.

  first of all, i would like to thank everyone who responded to my first posting regarding the hidden images thing.

  i will admit that, after re-reading my initial post, i sounded like some sort of a paranoid alarmist, and i really did deserve the flack i received from some of you folks.. let me just say that there probably isn't a single x-jw who doesn't feel as though they have been duped to some degree with regard to the so-called "bible truth" they received while serving the organization.

  many x-jws firmly use the terms "manipulation", "fear", "deception", and even more .

  I would agree that the since of urgency has dramatically declined, I just don't think it has any thing to do with the generation understanding. I would like to see some numbers on how many are seeking education beyond high school, I'm just going by my personal impression.

  Master & Commander - Movie/Film

  i do not generally post in this section, or go to the cinema very much, but this film opened here this week .

  it was utterly brilliant!.

  dont go if you are prone to sea sickness, it is the most realistic experience of being on a sailing ship .. held me transfixed ...... superb historical drama.

  the last little while there have been many talks on sex at the sunday meetings.

  it is sickening!

  they are very explicit in nature.. don't they realize that there are many children in the audience that are not really ready to hear this particular information?.

  Megadude they put two cameramen on a yachting expedetion that actually went around the Horn. Those guys filmed most of the storm stuff, they said it was the most terrify experience of their lives. They also bought the only real live frigate in existence for filming the movie, a lot of the stuff shot at sea was completely real.

  The "generation" change is only an issue on forums like this, it has zero influence in the organization as a whole and young people don't even know what it is. A minuscule percentage of Witness kids go to college, even now, so that's not much of a factor and not all that go stop being Witnesses. The real issue for most young people is the unending negativity of the organization and the "fantasy land" view of the world we live in and the organization.

  Strange, I also just went to a two day assembly and heard nothing like this. I thought there was a more consisten approach on this kind of thing. Do DOs and COs just get to spout what they want to?
